Berths are currently available in our boathouse (Joe McManus Facility, 199 Wonderland Road) for London Canoe Club members who are interested in storage for their canoe kayak or paddle board. Our storage contract runs from April to March
Activities will range from authentic cooking, north canoe races, tomahawk throwing, crafts for kids, to storytelling by our own Tecumseh. The Voyageur encampment will be traditional in equipment (much of which was hand forged by Club members), dress
The London Canoe Club promotes and encourages paddle sport activities with participation for families, individuals and groups in London and district; with emphasis on safety, education and enjoyment of the environment.
In addition to our comfortable fiber glass canoes, the canoe club has a variety of kayaks available for various skill levels and stability preferences. All equipment required is provided. Members are reminded to bring plenty of water, a snack and towel, just in case.
Here we will cover the foundations of kayak and paddle design, safety and seamanship as well as the basic strokes used in kayaking. 2017 schedule not set – stay tuned! This year for 2017, we will be holding a few Recreational Kayaking Foundations clinics. The cost is $40 for members and $60 for non members (membership can be obtained at time of registration.) Remember kayaking is a water sport. All participants are expected to be able to swim and come attired to do so with a towel
