The Sharon Creek Conservation Area located at 4212 Springer Road, Middlesex Centre is our summer home for casual drop in paddling. Members are welcome to come out, bring guests and sign out club equipment for use in the conservation area between Springer Rd and Carriage Rd. Boat house hours will depend upon our volunteers’ availability. Sharon Creek’s amenities are modest with a single toilet vault which can be used as a change area.
In addition to our comfortable fiber glass canoes, the canoe club has a variety of kayaks available for various skill levels and stability preferences. All equipment required is provided. Members are reminded to bring plenty of water, a snack and towel, just in case.
New for 2016 – we will be having youth member paddle times as regularly as possible. Parental chaperons are needed. Involvement will require preregistration.
For paddlers with different needs beyond what the London Canoe Club can provide for, we recommend contacting Abilities In Motion.
About Abilities in Motion: We are a non profit organization that offers kayaking to people with different needs. During our 14 years of operation we have found that there are many people who would like to paddle but, for a variety of reasons, cannot join in a regular class. We have enjoyed experiences with people with cerebral palsy, brain injury, amputees, quadriplegics, autistic, Down’s Syndrome……seniors, children….and everyone else. Our sessions are usually 1 to 1, with the option of adapted equipment.
